Turmoil, violent social and political change, cultural revolution, techmological revolution……
      At the brink of the 21st century, there are many questions about what the future holds for us. By looking at how change in Australian society is accepted, there may also be some answers.
      Technology in Australia provides a comstant cycle of evolution. If patterns hold true , as they have since the time of federation, we can expect an era of prosperity lasting until 2025. But prosperity can bring with it turbulent, perhaps violent, social and political change in the second decade of the 21st century.
       A shift from conservative to liberal society, religious and political values has already begun  and will gather strength  during the first two decades following the millenium.
      With increasinly rapid changes people may feel that they are being left behind and this  engenders a feeling of helplessness. Who knows what dehumanising effect less human interaction will bring upon our generation.
       Technology, like fire is a wonderful friend but is a deadly enemy.
